FOUNDING FARMS

In this era of immense corporate-owned farms and a factory approach to agriculture, the number of family farms in the United States diminishes each year. Yet, some family farms have managed to survive. This exhibition documents five of the oldest family farms in the United States, some as old as 350 years. I photographed these farms in 1989 and 1990.
